She's a great young women making very good decisions around things that are truly important in life. She is a very good example of helping those less fortunately. We are very proud of her.

When I had just turned 10 years old Hurricane Sandy devastated the coast (we don't live that far from the "shore") of NJ leaving many people without their homes and their belongings. This happened a few days before Halloween, which is my best, most fun holiday.
Governor Chris Christie's Executive Order rescheduled Halloween in New Jersey for Nov. 5.  I was very upset & angry.  My Dad asked me why I was crying.  He said I should think about kids who were not going to have Halloween at all. That is when I thought about all the kids that lost their Halloween costumes in the hurricane or didn’t even have a costume.  I decided to concentrate my efforts on them and not worry about me. After all, I already had a Costume. That's when Costumes for kids (CFK) was born. I decided to collect Halloween costumes to give to disadvantaged kids and kids in need. My Dad, Mom and I worked very hard as we only had a few days to get donations, separate them and get them delivered.  You may think that this is a silly charity but when you see the new Princesses and Darth Vader’s excitement and happiness it might change your mind. For many of these kids it is the FIRST time they ever had a real costume. Doing this makes me happy and proud. Each year we have gotten bigger and bigger.  For our 5th anniversary, my goal is $20,000 worth of costumes. It's hard because we have never collected any money donations. I have faith with people's help that we can grow.  My dream is for CFK to become known in the Tri-State area and one day to be national. It doesn't hurt to dream.
